Biography

Furio Bednarz has more than 35 years of experience in the field of social and economic research, and in the last 20 years he developed a specific expertise in the field of VET research, particularly focusing on European systems, qualification models and profiles, training design and evaluation, validation of informal and non formal learning. He is currently Director of the Office for Continuous Training and Innovation, by the Department for VET of the Ticino Cantonal Administration. In his previous work by ECAP Foundation, he developed a strong expertise in VET research and in consultancy on the themes of Training and Employment Policy, training design and evaluation. This expertise has been focused on leading projects and programs co-financed by European Commission and the Swiss Federal Authorities. In the field of social research, he worked on European Vocational training and Education System analysis with reference to the competences certification path; he published articles and participated in workshops focused on this theme. He also carried out teaching activities in Continuing Education Program with reference to support self employment and recognition / validation of informal and non-formal learning. As “senior consultant” and trainer he participated at studies and researches collaborating with several Institutes and Universities (Forschung Betriebliche Bildung – f-bb Nürnberg; RSO Milan, University of Trieste, IRES, SMILE Association, etc.). He dealt with topics such as classification and assessment of skills and competences, skills analysis, learning outcomes and competence orientation training design, development and implementation of European transparency instruments (EQF, ECVET, Europass).
