Biography

Laura Perret Ducommun is a central secretary at the Swiss Trade Union Confederation responsible for national training and youth policies. For the last 12 years the main focus of her activity has been training. She was the deputy head of division of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), responsible for professional education and training. Before this she was responsible for the unit human resources and finances for institutions of higher education at the Federal Office for Statistics following her activity as deputy general secretary at the university conference for western Switzerland. She has equally ten years teaching experience at the levels of upper secondary education, higher education and continuing education. This enabled her to develop a global and experience-based vision of the whole swiss educational system.

Laura Perret Ducommun has a PhD in computer science, an advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education as supervisor and coach and a master in public administration. She lives in Neuchâtel with her two children.
