Biography

Trained as a Forex trader at UBS, he jumped ship shortly before the merge with SBS and joined Reuters, the international news agency, filling a position in account management and catering to the financial industry in Ticino. Eleven years later, he joined Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in the role of administrative coordinator of the Ph.D. and graduate degree programs in finance at the Swiss Finance Institute (USI Faculty of Economics). After a brief stint  at business journalism at the Corriere del Ticino, he returned to USI, at first as the manager of the graduate degree program in Public Managment and Policy, then joining the  USI Media and Communications service, where he engages in media relations and in the English and Italian content creation and editing.

At the age of 48, Dimitri joined the USI Executive MBA program, expecting to graduate in October 2018. Besides English and Italian, he speaks fluently French (he was born in Vevey) and can manage basic Romansh, the language of the Viamala region, in the Grisons, where his surname originates.
